Refunds, Spring 2008.
A student officially withdrawing or dropping a
course during the Spring 2008
semester may receive a refund as follows:
Admission, late and lab fees are not refundable.

Refunds percentages
based upon semester charges, not amounts paid.
All refunds are applied toward amounts owed.
Note:
* The refund schedule above applies when
courses are dropped and a tuition adjustment is necessary.
* Refunds for dropped credits will not be issued until after the
last day to add a course.
* No refunds will be made on classes of less than five weeks
duration.
* Mini-semester refunds are based on class days completed.
* In case of academic or disciplinary suspension, eligibility for
refund will depend on the conditions of the suspension and will be
entirely at the option of the University.
* Special Fees are refunded in full through the 100% refund
period; thereafter, fees are non-refundable.
Refunds will be applied to repayment of financial aid first. Please see the
Financial Aid Coordinator prior to dropping a class or withdrawing from the
university.
Reduced Tuition Rates For Senior Citizens
Senior citizens (persons aged sixty-five years or older) who are New Mexico
residents, are eligible for reduced
tuition, under the Senior Citizens Reduced Tuition Act. The cost will be $5.00
in tuition per semester credit, plus a $3.00 administrative fee, for a total of
$8.00. There may be additional required fees such as course or lab fees. Senior citizens may register for a
maximum of six (6) semester credits at the reduced rate, on a space available basis.

Fees
The following are additional fees that will be assessed to the student:
Application Fee:
$15.00 First time NMSU state (non-refundable)
$35.00 First time NMSU International students (non-refundable)
Late Registration Fees:
A late registration or late payment penalty of $25.00 will be assessed if registration and payment or
arrangements for payment have not been completed by the deadline as
shown by the university calendar. Failure to make payment arrangements
with the Business Office at the time of registration may result in additional
liability.
Degree/Certificate Application Fees:
$25.00 for each Associate Degree (plus an additional $25.00 for late
application)
Certificate Application Fee: $10.00
Laboratory Fee:
Some classes do have laboratory fees added. Check in the class
schedule or student handbook for a listing of classes with
laboratory fees.
Spring 2008 Payment Plan
To avoid course cancellations, students must complete registration by making
payment arrangements with the Business Office by the deadline indicated in the
"Completion of Registration" section. Payment arrangements are made by
performing any one of the following: paying in full, paying a down payment equal
to or greater than, 10% of the tuition cost, processing a financial aid
deferment/receipt of Financial Aid Award; submitting a third-party billing
agreement; or submitting an employee tuition remission authorization.
Payment is required on costs not covered by third-party billing agreement or
tuition remission authorizations. Employee tuition remission
authorizations will not be accepted after February 1, 2008. All account
not paid in full by February 1, 2008, will automatically be placed on a payment
plan and will incur a one-time per semester installment plan fee of $14.00.
Outstanding semester debt as of February 1, 2008 semester will be divided into
four equal payments due on February 15, 2008, March 14, 2008, April 15, 2008,
and may 15, 2008.
