Comma Usage

(This page is under construction. Check back in a few days for more on this topic.)

Comma usage is a problem for almost everyone at one time or another. Here are some general rules that will help you decide when a comma is needed.

Use a comma to separate the following:
1.    Words in a series
The children brought swimsuits, shovels, and buckets to the beach party.

2.    Phrases in a series
The constitution calls for government of the people, by the people, and for the            people.
